Nancy Grace Effect

I admit that I did not follow the Casey Anthony trial that closely.  However, I was aware of the nearly constant media attention that the case received on the HLN network and the case has been a long time passion of former Georgia prosecuting attorney Nancy Grace.  Nancy seemed to convict Casey Anthony at the get-go and presented very one sided coverage.  It seems that there is a tremendous amount of evidence against Casey, but we also have a justice system that says a person is innocent until proven guilty.  Nancy ignored that in this case.  The overzealous and over agressive prosecution of the case that Nancy Grace's media circus demanded backfired and left the jury looking for reasonable doubt.  In Gwinnett County Georgia, the Judge will instruct the jury that if their minds are wavering or unsettled, then they must acquit of the DUI charges.
