Gwinnett County Commission Member Arrested for DUI

The Gwinnett County Commissioner was arrested Monday night around 9PM for DUI.  It was a very unusual arrest.  First of all, the Commissioner had a breathalyzer score of .000.  Secondly, the call to law enforcement was made to an off-duty police rather than 911.  Thirdly the arrest was made by a Gwinnett deputy sherriff  instead of by Gwinnett Police Department.

The Gwinnett Sheriff's Department said the commissioner failed three field tests for sobriety before he was arrested.  The Commissioner Chairman submitted to a blood test but the result may not be known for weeks.
