Ignition Interlock - Gwinnett County

If you are convicted of a DUI in Suwanee Municipal Court or in any court in Gwinnett County, GA, particulary if you have prior DUI convictions, you are facing  probation and a lengthy suspension of your Georgia drivers license.  One condition that you may face on the way to having your license reinstated is the ignition interlock.  Typically, a mandatory condition of a second or subsequent DUI in Suwanee or Gwinnett County is the installation of an interlock device in your car.  You must breathe into the ignition interlock device in order to start your vehicle.  If it detects alcohol on your breath, you will not be able to start the car.  Problems can arise, however, if you move from the state of Georgia or elect to not use the ignition interlock.  It may be mandatory and your license will remain suspended until you complete the interlock period.  This is troubling as other states will likely not have the equipment and Georgia cannot monitor the device in other states.  This may make getting a license in another state impossible as you cannot reinstate in Georgia.  However, a qualified probation lawyer can help.   Suwanee DUI attorney Richard Lawson and his associated lawyers have experience remedying Gwinnett County probation problems, including probation issues associated with the ignition interlock from a DUI conviction.   Call our Suwanee, GA lawyers today for a free consultation of your legal issue.
